The movie’s name that we watched is “Murderball”, it’s a kind of a wheelchair version of Rugby. The guys who play that are really tough! Some of them are very agressive and they act like assholes, but they survived a huge crisis in their lives. Some of them have no legs or they are paralized! At the beginning it was hard for them to see the difference between handicapped people and “normal” people. They can’t go dancing or they can’t run with their children, but they find a way to live. Everyone of them is thankful to be alive. The sport is a way to get respect and the players are very focused! They have only one goal, to win gold in every game.
I have no problem to respect people with a handicap. I get very angry if someone doesn’t accept them and makes bad jokes about them. I would like to see the people who do that in the same position as hanicapped people! Sometimes it’s also very difficult to work with people who are handicapped because most of them don’t like too much attention and sometimes they are to focused to solve one problem so that they can’t see the whole contrast.
I think in thirth-world-countries it’s impossible to get a job or money if you are handicapped and so you need your family to help you. They haven’t a healthcare system like in Switzerland, or in most countries in Europe, so they have no perspective in their lives and that makes me feeling sad!
